Metallica ‘Enter Sandman’ isolated vocals

- or: Read Bobby Owsinski’s Blog !

I can’t take any credit or thanks for finding this video – it’s lifted straight from a series of posts on  Bobby Owsinski’s blog, featuring isolated instruments and vocals from a fascinating range of artists, each with some interesting comments.

In this case for example, he points out both the excellence of the vocal performance, the “cleaning up” that has been done (multiple drop-ins) and the track-sharing to make the most of the tracks on the analogue tape. The vocals themselves start around 1’15″.

If you’re a Production Advice reader, I’m sure you’ll love the video (well, the audio, anyway ;-p) – and, I’m sure you’ll enjoy Bobby’s blog, too.

And that’s the point of this post – head on over and subscribe !

Bobby is a true music industry veteran – I first came across him on Glen Meadow’s Mastering WebBoard over 10 years ago, where I particularly enjoyed reading his posts on surround-sound mixing and mastering. He’s written several excellent books (that’s an Amazon affiliate link, btw) and makes valuable contributions all over the online music community.

All in all, Bobby is someone I strongly recommend you check out, if you haven’t already come across him.

That’s it – enjoy reading his posts !
