Over the last two days Rise and Shine has been on-air again, composing a new song to support Earth Hour, which has been sweeping around the globe throughout today and hits the UK in just over one hour’s time – Earth Hour begins at 8:30 pm local time, wherever you are.

The new Rise and Shine song was written in just two days – the essence of the show is collaborative songwriting, via a live video feed and feedback from the viewers, who suggest ideas, help write the lyrics, or just keep an eye on the fun.

Click here to find out more about Earth Hour, and here to find out why I think Rise and Shine points to some exciting new possibilities for songwriters. Steve Lawson blogged an excellent discussion of the event here.

Here’s the Rise and Shine Earth Hour Anthem – any proceeds will be donated to charity.
