Something really fantastic has started happening.
I get a lot of flack for all the loudness war stuff I post, and concerns that giving people “rules of thumb” for music production (with the TT Meter for example) is a bad idea, or squashes creativity, or isn’t theoretically valid.
On the other hand, people have also been contacting me for years now just to say “thanks” for this site, and for the products and advice I offer. But recently, more and more people are sending examples of their work.
Now I don’t always have the bandwidth to listen, and I have a huge backlog – but when I do, I’m delighted that so much of it sounds great !
(What can I say, not everyone listens to my advice about loudness !)
– and this song just appeared in my Facebook inbox this morning:
These are just a quick random sample of the range and variety of music that Production Advice readers are working on – and getting great results.
So if you’re someone who has sent me some of your music and has found the site useful – thank you. I’m so fortunate to be able to make a living doing what I love, and hearing evidence that people find my posts useful is the icing on the cake – in fact, it makes everything worthwhile.
This stuff works.
Make your music sound great.
